AV Social Going Leeds

lookandlisten host The AV Social to bring AddictiveTV to Leeds’ only ongoing AV club night
Leeds’ one and only audiovisual club night returns, pumped up with a blockbuster line up of high entertainment. Three top acts Addictive TV, Oli Sorenson and local hero Dan Tait, have all ranked in DJ Mag’s 2008 Top 20 VJ poll, and for one night only they are rocking the house at TJ’s Woodhouse Club, 8:00pm to 2:00am on Friday 27th February.
Headlining the night are remix gurus Addictive TV with a live extravaganza of movie re-mixes and video mash-ups. Repeatedly voted the world’s no. 1 audiovisual act, the London duo have just remixed Slumdog Millionaire for Golden Globe winning and Oscar-tipped director Danny Boyle. Known for their crazy live antics and mind-blowing synchronised sets where everything you hear is what you see, Addictive TV’s remixing skills are definitely in vogue in Hollywood circles. The guys have remixed countless movies as online trailers for studios like Paramount and 20th Century Fox, from films like Iron Man to Max Payne and they’ve played some of the coolest club nights around the globe from Tokyo, to Amsterdam, and from Shanghai to San Francisco, including gigs supporting Moby, Grandmaster Flash, Stereo MCs, Goldfrapp and the Chemical Brothers, and last year they became the first artists to ever remix the Olympics live for TV!
Also hitting Leeds for the very first time is Oli Sorenson (AKA VJ Anyone, creator of The AV Social), mixing the latest releases from his AV label Ne1co, including new and classic tracks from Toolroom, Lot49 and Flat Belly. Completing the line-up is former Leeds’ lad Dan Tait, who has toured around the world with his custom DVJ (visual DJ) sets from Space Ibiza to Ministry of Sound Singapore, and also countless conference shows for Pioneer. And to kick things off, lookandlisten have commissioned local DJ & VJ team Metricpizza to champion a re-scoring and re-editing of selected films.
This is going to be a night to remember, a real experience for Leeds’ music and film lovers. Make sure to come early as the venue only holds 300 people, to make room for all the giant screens of our high flying performers!
