Devan Simunovich and Nika Offenbac are the people behind Faune and its sibling company C-TRL. They are not only responsible for many wonderful visual creations so far, but have also blessed the VJ community with their great visual live performance tool LO Ryder.
Always busy, they now have finished their latest piece, which describes best as a fantastic, hot and virtual girl fight scene (or a typical NY cocktail party — you never know).
The music for this cool music video comes straight from Berlin and electronic producer Housmeister (BoyzNoize / All You Can Beat / BPitch Records).
Since Alan Ball’s “True Blood” has been aired here in the UK for the first time we have fallen in love with the whole series from the very first second on.
This is not only because of Mr. Ball’s huge talent for writing great scripts like the Academy Award (and many other awards) winning original screenplay for “American Beauty” and his creation of “Six Feet Under” and now “True Blood”.
But beside the fantastic story itself, this is also thanks to the frightfully and beautiful opening titles by Digital Kitchen and the cool title track “Bad Things” by Jace Everett.
No wonder this title sequence has now been nominated in the “Outstanding Main Title Design” category for this year’s Emmy awards. We keep our fingers crossed!
Digital Kitchen now has published a making of and a very insightful case study of the project (link to the case study after the jump).
There are two things all of the videos for N.A.S.A. have in common.
First, they always feature a whole range of big names and vocal talents. In this case it’s M.I.A., Spank Rock, Santogold, & Nick Zinner.
And second, these music videos also always look great, crazy and very (very) colourful thanks to the wonderful imagination of people like Jimena Oddi, who created the original artwork for this piece, and Jorge Jaramillo.
Be sure to check out Jimena Oddi’s page for more beautiful creations (link after the jump)!
If you haven’t seen all the other N.A.S.A. music video cracyness watch this:
“A Volta”
featuring Sizzla, Amanda Blank, & Lovefoxxx directed by Logan based on the original artwork of The Date Farmers
A nonexistent budget, the band living in Tokyo and the directors living and working in New York.
What came out in the end is one of those wonderful examples of a solid and great concept and an even greater execution directed and produced by Hal Kirkland, Masa Kawamura (BBH New York)and their buddies Magico Nakamura & Masayoshi Nakamura.
We love it!
